The way our summer is going, weather-wise, I don't think I'll even have red tomatoes....I have 6 plants right now with one measly tomato the size of a walnut.
So, those fried green tomato recipes will come in handy! thanks all
I made a mixture of cornmeal and flour, added salt and pepper. Dipped them in buttermilk, then the flour mixture, then fried in lard. My DH likes them very crispy.
Love em, but won't indulge like that again for a good long while.

OH MY GOODNESS! How did I get to forty without ever trying these? I expect to be at least a stone heavier this time next year. I don't think we will ever have red tomatoes again.

Love fried green tomatoes, found that after coating them good, put in fridge for a while for the coating to really cling,But will pass on the collards.To much gas.
