Ugh.

I am a big big fan of electric fencing to keep things out. It works great with dogs because the first thing they will do is touch it with their nose to check it out. It worked wonders with out GS dog and cats. They avoid the coop like the plague now. Plus it is cheap and easy to install-they have tons of different insultators you can use with wood or metal fence posts. you don't even need electric to the coop as the chargers come battery or solar powered. I have had lots of luck buying them on ebay-they have all worked perfectly and been quite a bit cheaper than new. The electric should cure your dog problem.

Thanks for the advice and sympathy.

I found a rhode island red carcass and so I put the dead chickens on my dogs collars. I keep having to put more and more zip ties on them because my boxer will not stop trying to eat the body. Any advice on how to do this?

I am so sorry for your troubles. Sometimes just the daily stuff can be overwhelming when it's still all new, and you have some awful things happening to add to it.

I don't think attaching a dead chicken to the dog will do anything positive. If you read the predator list, the family dog is number 1. From what I have read, dog-proofing your coop is the best defense against another attack.
