Ugliest Bird in My Flock Award goes to.....

LACEY!

She's a year old Blue Laced Red Wyandotte! She came to me a few months ago because her flock wanted her dead. Her aggressors ripped out the feathers from the back of her neck and had begun pecking a large hole in it when she was found.
She was treated, but it doesn't appear the feathers will grow back. Just when I thought she couldn't get any uglier, she went into molt!
Lacey is a sweet bird and was my best layer until she started to molt.

Here's Miss Olive. Not exactly a beauty queen. But I do love her, and she gifts me with a pretty green egg every morning.

Hubby is telling me how mean I am for calling her ugly. Um, have you looked at the bird?

She's been this way for months poor baby. First she was picked on so we removed the offending hen. Then she started to molt and just stopped. Funny, she's my favorite hen in that coop.
