They are not lash eggs. Lash eggs result from an infection of the oviduct, and the condition is known as salpingitis. I lost a production hen to that this spring. [EDT: The few eggs she laid looked perfectly normal, except for the giant balls of pus that were often in the middle.]

If you get a lot of eggs like that and they are from one hen, then her egg shell gland might be messed up. Worms, MG and some other things cause that.

Did you have to treat the flock for sniffles?

No I haven’t treated for anything , I noticed a red butt and we’ve had feather loss , they look a mess from the rooster.

Just looked up mg, no one has any of those symptoms , in the last two weeks we’ve had three of those eggs from 21 hens.

I’ve never dewormed my hens, poop is normal , of course in sand it can be hard to tell

It sounds like one of those things that happens.

It is not likely worms and if it was it had to be at point of lay not now. You can send a poo sample in for a float test. You do not always see the worms and if you do it is a bad case of them.

A float test can be done at home if you have a good microscope
