Ugly Wyandotte?

Hello everybody

I received this Sweet little boy named Cornelius about a month ago.
He is approximately 21 weeks old.

I’m just wondering if his feathers are fine for his age. I think the lacing is a bit messy though. But I’m not sure. What do you think?

I have some Wyandotte eggs in the incubator for some pullets.

Will it be better if I found another Wyandotte rooster instead of this guy?

I have some day old chicks as well, I can save a cockerel from. They’re not related to the eggs in the incubator

Could do. Wyandotte showers usually show in the 2nd year after the lacing has had to chance to go through a few moults. If you’re breeding for good quality, you may want to try buying an older adult rooster with full markings so you know what you’re quality buying.

I agree with @featheredplanets. If you’re just breeding for a hobby you should just wait and see if his molt brings more definition and sharpness to his lacing.
