So I ordered 10 geese from Stromberg hatchery, five buff and five Pomeranian

All arrived alive and look very healthy but one doesn't even have eyes

Yikes! I'm surprised the hatchery didn't notice that!

How's it doing?
I'm sure some people would love to keep a pet goose and help out a disabled gosling at the same time. Lots of people like pet geese but geese can become aggressive when they mature. A disabled goose would make a good pet that needs a loving, understanding owner.

My geese that are fully grown aren't aggressive towards me but everyone else! Hehe! This is my third shipment from Stromberg this year and the first two had no problems. We'll see how he gets around with the others and if he struggles I'll move him inside. He may be Christmas dinner.

So far he's running around with the others but if you hold your finger in front of him he doesn't peck or bite it like the others, and he runs into the side of the box.

I'm glad he's doing pretty well.

We got a chicken that has some defects. Its purposefully bred into his breed, but it just doesn't look that comfortable and I don't really want it passed on to his chicks, so I've decided not to use him as my new rooster. He's probably going into the stew pot as well, after he grows up.

You give them the best life possible and they'll taste the best!

Aw, that's a shame, I love buffs. It seems like its hard to find sources of them.

Stromberg sells show quality and pet quality, so it's kind of expected I wouldn't get 100% perfect geese.. It the no eye goose gets around and eats and drinks fine then there's really no problem, since he doesn't know any different. I think the one that can't walk is just a little weak and will get better.
