Crowing
My hubby saw a tub of Gamble's Quail Chicks and 6 of them came home with us! The store people hatch them themselves. They are so teeny tiny but they seem to be doing okay in the brooder on this cold, rainy night!

Please check with your state department! You need a permit to keep those in mine. It varies state by state. Impulse gamebird purchases not recommended for this reason.
Good luck with the cuties.![]()

Great score, usually feed stores don't handle Gambles or Valleys. @CoturnixComplex is correct, check with your state's Natural Resourses Department or Wildlife Department or a Game Warden, most likely Oregon requires a permit to keep them in captivity.
You will also need to feed them a gamebird feed with at least 24% protein.

Thank you. Don't need a permit unless we are selling. I might apply anyway. Also i miswrote we have bobwhites.
NOT Gambels!! I hate being old! We got Bobwhites. We did have the knowledge from here to ask for gamebird starter and have discovered that one only needs a permit to raise them for sale. We won't sell them or release them on our land or anywhere else. They will be poultry field decorations.
