Uh-Oh, Twins...

I just candled my duck eggs and it's very clear that there are 2 embryos developing in one of them, which makes sense as one of my girls often lays a double yolker. I know the odds of them hatching are slim to none, but I'm gonna give it a try!

Another odd thing about the egg is the air sac - it's not on the fat end like normal but spans nearly the whole of one side (long ways). It's not detached either, it stays in one spot.

Hatch date is May 14th, wish me luck!

Best of luck to you. I had a double yolker last year that got to day 27. The egg was huge so they definately had plenty of room - but sadly the little one in frnt near the aircell had its head down and wouldnt have been able to hatch. The one behind was absorbing the yolk though so it was sad to loose them both. It was a great experience- and as long as you know the outcome is mst likely to be a sad one - I hope you get as much form the experience as I did. Fingers are crossed for you.

for your hatch!! I was watching a video on youtube, and a lady helped out 2-3 chicken eggs that all had 2 chicks in each of them. I think one she helped out both babies lived, the other two eggs only one chick was alive in both of them.

You will probably have to help out the ducklings, if the live to lockdown.
