Some of my chick's seem to have a lump on the front of their necks.
Any idea what could cause that?
Is it an air bubble some of mine get them
I have always let them be and they go away on their own.
It isn't their crop is it? Sort of close to the breast area?
Edited to say crop not craw.
Quote:It's most likely their crop. The crop is at the top of their chest/bottom of their neck, and usually likes to the right. It holds food before it's let into the gizzard. It should be bigger after they eat ( actually-- huge) and goes down as the food goes into it's gizzard.
That makes perfect sense because they just munched on some meal worms.
Being a first time chicken mama, I had NO idea what was going on, and I got scared.
Quote:It's definitely an odd looking thing-- even when you know what it is
