My goose made her nest on the floor in the chicken coop. I didnt think much about it until she went broody. Now she will not let the chickens in to lay eggs and she killed a 7 week old banty that got too close yesterday. Oddly, the chickens can go in there to roost at night, just not to lay eggs. Should I attempt to move the nest and hope she will sit on it in the new location or if I just take the eggs will she go back to laying in the same place?

This happened to me last year. I had chickens with crossed legs all over the yard. Nobody wanted to brave the "Dragon" to lay an egg.
I moved the nest, she ignored it and went back to the old one. I had to block her out of the coop entirely by building a "strainer" (something the hens could get through, but she could not. If you move the nest, I suggested moving it in a dog crate and locking her in for a day or two until she accepts her new location. Depending on how your coop is configured, some people have had good luck building a pen around the broody goose. This will allow the chickens to get to their boxes, but hopefully keep all their feathers.

This year my problem goose decided to nest in the door way of the feed barn. So the chickens are safe, but we are treading an uneasy truce. I give her treats and she doesn't try to kill me, but I'm pretty sure she calls me some very nasty things in Toulouse!
