So these little sweethearts are only four weeks old, and I know they cannot be sexed at this age. Ester has been the biggest chick, but she's a Barred Rock and my other Barred Rock (3-year-old hen) is huge, so I thought it might be a breed thing.

However, today I think I see just the slightest point and curve to her tail feathers. Does anyone else see it?

That means nothing, absolutely nothing in most cases,I have had both sexes have messers curvy tails.Being four weeks we could guess somewhat,A face picture would be extremely more helpful, based off the pattern of her feathers, I’m going with pullet.

Ok, good to know it means nothing. And also happy if Ester is indeed a pullet. Not quite ready for roosters. :)

I see the tiny curve to the tail feathers but she is still dark, like my BR hens were, and she’s got no waddle development visible in the pic. Her comb is barely pink. Barred rocks can often be sexed at hatch - the males generally have a more prominent yellow spot on their heads. If you bought her as a sexed chick, you’ve got a very high chance of her being a pullet. (For what it’s worth, I see a pullet.)
