I hadn’t thought about an 18-25” snow storm all at once... i dont want my ducks to get hurt, i am not sure they are bright enough to stay inside. I figure after it settles some they can stay on top ok, but currently it’s pretty fluffy. Any advice? storm

Whatever you do, don't use anything like salt or deicer; it will freeze their feet.

Poor dear things! Mine are just about as enthusiastic about the maybe 2 inches we got in northern VT. I’m not sure if I’m disappointed or relieved that the storm missed us. But there’s plenty of time for another storm to hit us...

Also, I see that your Rouens make nice “duck boats” also. That’s what I call it when they tuck their feet under their wings. Daphne has the nickname of “Duck Boat Daphne” in cold weather as she can’t stand the feeling of snowy feet!

Poor dear creatures! Hopefully, they will molt earlier next year. I thought mine were late, finishing up in November! Last year, we had an early cold snap, during which it got down to zero degrees Fahrenheit for several days while my most cold sensitive duck was mid-molt. She wasn’t pleased, but she made it through just fine. I hope your little ones are ok and that they finish up molting soon!
