Umbilical cord is stuck?!

Okay, I have a chicken that is trying to hatch. But, she's stuck to the eggshell by some kind of umbilical cord or vein or something! What is it and what do I do?

without a pic it is hard to say, if it is coming from the abdomen it most likely is the umbilical cord. If it is don't do anything it will dry up and the chick will break it on his/her own. If you do anything it could cause it to have a herniated belly button.

I broke the shell so it's still connected but the chick is no longer attached to the entire shell. It is able to move around, now.
I saw another chicken with something really similar and I figured it would be best to leave it and that chick is fine. I'm pretty sure this one is going to be fine, too.
