umbilical cord?

under one of my chicks bums is a scab that the another chick has picked off. wondering what I should do. it bled just a little and it doesn't seem to bother her but it's still an open wound. worried about infections!

i'm not 100%, but I doubt that it's an umbilical. Maybe it just got scratched.

Chicks are not attached to a mother, so there would not be an umbilical cord, plus it would be in the wrong place if chicks HAD umbilical cords.

Most likely a pasty poop that ripped some fluff out when the other chicks pecked at it. Try some ointment...salve, neosporin, etc. Should be ok.
