Texas y'all.
I never know what to say on these things so yeah...

My husband impulsively bought 6 chicks about a month ago. Kept them in the garage inside a cage with a heat lamp until yesterday when we finished our coop and run and moved them and the lamp to their new home. We have 2 barred rocks named Macy and Lucy. Macy is a big fat bully. We also have 1 chipmunk colored bantam with fluffy legs named Betsy but she might turn out to be a Bob . There's 1 black sexlink named Lily. A Rhode Island Red named Scarlet. And my sweet baby Leghorn named Olivia. We also have a 3yr old cat named Smoochy who really wants to play with our chicks. He just lays at the end of the run and stares at them all day. (He can't get in though) I am a stay at home mom. I have a beautiful 9yr old daughter named Madison and a super adorable 8 month old son named Lucas. My hobbies include staying in my pajamas as much as possible, binge watching Netflix and other shows, snacking all day on stuff I shouldn't be eating, reading, gardening (in my pjs usually), napping with the baby, going to lunch with my daughter at school, and this past week I upcycled an old used chicken coop, replaced rotted wood and repainted. I absolutely LOATHE doing laundry but don't mind other housework.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.
