Uncooked rice

One of my baby chicks seems sick. It is not eating or drinking like the other chicks who do not stop picking and drinking. I am giving it by eye dropper some colital silver. Any advice out there??? Should I continue giving the chick the silver and how offten??

Chickens can eat uncooked rice, it does not blow up inside them. That's an Urban myth that just won't die.

The "switching their feed" comment sets off alarms though. A bird can't survive on just rice, or just corn, or just wheat. They are omnivores and need either a varied diet or a commercial feed.

Adult chickens love uncooked rice.. and its NOT harmful to them as a PART of their diet

I feed mine uncooked rice every evening to get them back in the coop.... and my fancy pigeons love it too.

But I also feed a commercial chicken layer pellets to my chickens as the main diet... and they free range.

You SHOULD NOT feed only uncooked rice.... they will get sick with nutritional deficiencies for sure!!!
