Under Eye Injury

Hi folks, my girl Steve has what I think is an under eye injury that I’m not sure how to treat.

I don’t think this is anything infectious because she was originally injured this spring when she had chicks and had to defend her position in the pecking order.

It mostly healed but the lower lid looked ‘loose’ then this week I think she may have reinjured it.

How can I treat without hurting the eye?

How can I treat without hurting the eye?

Looks like she has an eye infection.

Flush the eye with saline, push and press out the pus, then put an eye ointment in the eye like Terramycin eye ointment. You can also use Original Neosporin if you can't find Terramycin.

The eye will not heal unless the pus is removed.
