Under ground wire for all runs?

My birds will be in their coop at night. Should I still install the meshing under the ground for the run? We have raccoons here but only at night.

Other than that and the neighbor's dog I can't think of any critters that would want to get in the run.

So if they are in at night would you still put the meshing under ground?
 
Yes i would use the wire around the run and the coop. The weasels and dogs are BIG problems with chickens . They dig in during the day too. I have not had problems so far and its been nearly a year by using the buried wire. Good luck Gloria Jean
 
No to hijack, but What is the best way to do this?

We are about to start construction on our coop and run and I have seen a lot about putting wire floors in, but how deep do you bury it, attach it to your run, what kind of mesh wire do you use for this part of the run?

Now off to post another thread about finishing the inside of the coop's walls...
