My husband built me a small coup for three RIR's while the chicks get the big coup till they get old enough to introduce the full grown hens. This morning the kids went to look into the run, and came running in to tell me that one of our hens was "gone". They were very worried, and I was perplexed, so I went out right away. When I got there, sure enough, two hens to be found, and nowhere to hide, except........under the Coup! I couldn't believe it. There she was, laying an egg. I don't know how she got under there, the gap was only about 7 inches high, and this is a full grown Rhode Island Red hen. AHHHHHH. I got out there with chicken wire and secured the area. Just what I need. Every time I want to collect eggs, I have to LIFT the chicken coup, just to check. [IMG] Hopefully she will go back to the nest to lay now:)

How demanding of you! LOL! It is amazing where these girls can fit to get a little privacy or a choice morsel.
