Frozen put all of his might and strength into sinking his fangs in the buck as it slowly lost air and fell to the ground.

 

[Gertrude McFuzz]

River could feel the buck dying in her jaws. Its life for hers. Survival of the fittest.

Frozen let go as the buck laid his head and died.

 

[Gertrude McFuzz]

River released her grasp. She licked the blood from her muzzle.

Frozen began to tear off meat from the deer.

River bit into the carcass. The warmth from the meat filled her stomach, a comfort in the cold of winter.

Frozen finished his share and thought a while. "We should go hunting more often," he said.

 

[Gertrude McFuzz]

River looked up at him, blue eyes wide, "But - That's quite a risk. I mean, your pack…If they found you hunting with a loner…"

 

[ChicknsRock]

"Who cares about my pack?" he said. "If they kick me out, it'll be no different then before."

 

[Gertrude McFuzz]

River cocked her head, "That bad? I always thought it would be pleasant. Always surrounded by wolves you can trust, not being constantly alone."
