I had a speckled sussex that just seemed to stop growing at at 9 weeks or so, and died at about 13 weeks. She ate, drank, no problem, just didnt grow, then over a few days got super thin and died. Now her sister who is about 17 weeks seems VERY thin and not growing like the other chickens(differnt breeds, same age). She eats, drinks and droppings don't seem to have any worms....but maybe runnier than normal? Does this sound like a parasite infestation? Would wazene be appropriate? It has a warning not to give to sick or under weight birds......ANY recommendations would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
John

You could try it anyway, or you could try Corid for cocci, especially if they sort of fluff up as if they are cold. That's more a cocci age.

THANKS! for the quick response. She is definitely puffed up......I treated the flock with Corid about 9-10 weeks ago, would it be to soon to do again?

It won't do any harm -- but I wonder if this is the problem, if they have already been treated once. Corid stays pretty much entirely in their gut and attacks cocci, not the chicken, so it's not going to hurt anything. I think I would try it anyway. Be sure it's their only water source.
