Undercover Chicken Mother

I am in an HOA, and I am on the architectural board! So talk about being stealth and crazy at the same time. Our board meeting was last night and someone said something like "and then next thing you know someone will want chickens". They went crazy like a bunch on hens!!! Well I just build a 14x8 duck run and will be finishing it up in a week or so and plan on getting 5 ducks!! The neighbors on both sides of me need their fences replaced because they are falling down and the yard at one has all these dead spots with dirt areas, and the trim needs painted. So I think I will do a drive around and make a list myself of all the infractions and hand that over when I am eventually found out!!! Any other great ideas out there when the Boss comes knocking? I live in Spokane County in Washington State. Thanks to all the other undercover lovers of our feathered friends.

That's awesome!! Well, our neighbors fence fell partially down and the crew came out to fix it.. long story but they (the crew) were in our backyard and there sat my chickens in their coop just roosting.. I've been nervous the last 24 hours and then to top that off we actually have a woman who drives the entire neighborhood and stops at each house to see if trashcans can be seen from the street. She came by not 3 hours later and I just knew I was busted. I jumped up from my chair and walked right outside just to make sure there was no view into my backyard. It's been a very long 24 hours to say the least. I will say that we have had any ants or spiders around since my girls started patrolling the backyard and I clean out my coop every morning as well so flies are not an issue. I think if there are any flies it's from my neighbors yard from the dog poo in the yard. My coop is 4x3 and is 2 feet of the ground and a total of 6 feet with the pitched roof. We had to build it ourselves so that it fit in the space that hides it best. I have no idea what I'll say if/when I'm found out.. I'll have to do some more thinking on that. Stay cool my undercover friend!!!

Yes! Going into this we knew we would have to..I have 2 friends that have agreed to take them in case this goes bad. I really hope it doesn't. One has a farm and the other has a few acres.. I would hate to see my girls go but it's always a possibility.
