In the Brooder
Hello, new member here wanting to give the best possible care to one of the hens mine and my sister's proverbial wing.
My girl, Ruby, we discovered had mites about 3 weeks ago, I think. We treated her, and the rest of the flocks and their respective coops. Ruby's constitution certainly perked up, having been noticeably bothered by the mites (droopy wings, massive weight loss, her "spark" gone from her eyes).
What bothers me is that she still feels like skin and bones. We've been keeping her separate from the flock simply because how thin she feels, I want her to thrive! She eats well, drinks, normal excrement from what I understand. She's never been a frequent layer, but where the other members of the flock have picked back, she hasn't. Her last egg was back in October. I'm guessing she's about 2.5-3 years old.
Her lack of egg laying, is that something that should be concerning?
Also, last year when she'd had a vet visit to repair some rooster damage (rooster situation rectified), I'd learned her weight was 1.9kg. With a home scale, I've weighed her at 1.2kg. We feed her the same feed as the rest of the flock, All Flock, due to our mixed flock of chickens and ducks.
I just want to make sure I'm doing well for her, but if a vet visit is suggested, I can do that.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
