Gosh I just love those feet in that last pic. I got a duck for my sister (she has a 2 acre pond). She didn't want it to be alone so I sent 2 guineas with it. I found her 8 more ducks and brought them to her. It was so funny to watch that first little duck. He thought he was a guinea and would put his head down and zoom all around the brooder as fast as the guineas. I laughted till I cried. Congrats glad to hear the other 2 eggs are still peeping

CONGRATS! My little call duck hatched yesterday and I have two more peeping. Boy, he can cry up a storm! They are so cute! What a great surprise!!

LOL wait till you hear this story!! I dont know how he did it! He is not quite 3 days old, and I had him in a box about 18" tall, on the kitchen counter. I have a one pint waterer in there, and a stuffed animal. I came in from outside with my dh, and I heard him peeping. As I went out to see what he wanted, I thought the peeping sounded in the wrong direction, but thought I was nuts! So I get to his box.... NO DUCK. He's GONE.

Then I found him in the dining room, on the floor. Somehow he had gotten up on the water, and another 8 inches higher up to the top of the box. I'm guessing he must have fell from the counter to the floor, but he seems to be fine, and was running around.

I have been raising ducks and geese for years and have always fed medicated feed with NO problem. The problems start if the protien level is to low. Keep up the good work with your new babies...Gloria
