I came home the other day and noticed a duck wandering around the flower bed, I don't have any ducks so this was a surprise to see. The next day I was weeding and found a duck egg. It's a pretty big egg, not what I am used to seeing from my chickens. So this got me wandering, how often do ducks lay eggs? Anyone here have ducks for egg production?

IT depends on the breed....but wild ducks will lay their clutch and then start to incubate once they're all laid. If they lose their eggs early enough in the year, they will start a second batch.

Now, I have runner ducks....and they DO lay year round....more eggs than chickens!
