Unexpected trip while hen sitting on nest

Hi all,

I've had a broody hen for about 3-4 days now. I was able to get 7 fertilized eggs and just put them under her this morning. A few hours later, we find out we will be gone the week they should hatch. Advice here? Should I remove the eggs today and place them next Friday so we will for sure be home when they hatch?

And if the answer is remove the eggs and wait a week, can I just store the eggs in a carton on my counter for 7 days with no issues?
