Unfriendly chickens :(

I currently manage a flock of about 18 chickens who are very skiddish around me, or anyone else who goes to visit them.

Any tips on making them more friendly?

hanging out with them doesn't seem to work :'(

I've also tried giving them chicken scratch, but they don't get close enough to feed it to them!!!

NOTE: i lost about 8 chcikens to skunks

could that be a factor?

they just don't seem to want me around

yeah, skunks would make me nervous too!

keep trying with the scratch. just scatter on ground now (and use a little song call of your own, mine is "here chickchickchick!")
they will start to associate the song call with food, and you, and eventually you'll be tripping over the stupid birds every time you walk out of the house.
