i have rhode island reds 12 in all,its an open coop from the front only,i found a dead chicken in the corner she was about 6 months old.her head and neck and part of the chest were gone no parts in site,i found her the next morning, feathers where in 2 main places and some scattered, big blood spot about 10 feet from were she was left.there must have been a lot of chasing food bowl was turned over and a few other signs of struggle, the rest of the chickens where hiding in places and scared.i have not had any problems with predators in the 4 months ive had them,ANY IDEAS ON WHAT IT MIGHT BE? from reading on here sounds like a raccoon or owl.i really havent seen or heard anything i appreciate your input thx jeff

I would think a coon would eat more, not just the parts and bits and pieces.
A coon took one of my chickens and all we found was one wing and two feet.

I read a while back about something that ate the insides, I think it was a fishercat but I'm not sure.
