I was asked the other day if I wanted to buy 3 black royal pheasants I think is what he called them. All he is asking is 30 dollars for them. With that said what can I do with them.

what kind of pheasant is that is it a kind of chinese ringnecked

I am not sure they are the same size and build as a ring neck.

Either black ringneck or black melanistic,both are the same just different names.Beautiful bird though.

What would someone just getting back into birds do with 3 of them is there any money to be made with them?

You are getting them very cheap.You can breed and hatch your own eggs and sell the chicks off.These are very fertile birds,and you will get at least 40 eggs per hen.Are you getting a male and 2 hens?Even selling fertile eggs you should be able to fetch 10.00 per dozen.There is no doubt that you will make your investment back.The problem with birds are,you need to feed them and the grain is getting higher and higher in price every day.A 50lb bag of gamebird pellet here is 16,49.You will get some enjoy from them just by watching their bahavior.They will get use to you,even faster if you feed them treats when you see them.Before long,they will be jumping to you to get that treat.They love unsalted peanuts,it has to be unsalted.

The salt will kill them wont it really fast. I might have to do this then thanks so far for the input. Yes it is 2 hens and one male.

No kidding there, I just paid $21 per 50# bag today.

Heard it is going to continue to rise. I can't imagine what organic costs here right now _ I didn't even want to look.
