Unknown age - cockrel or pullet?

I'm almost certain this chick is a serama, but I'm not 100% sure. I found it at a feed store being sold as snake food. No breed nor age information available.

Good job for saving him! I would guess he is a Serama or Serama mix, and that he is a male, though it is hard to tell not knowing his age.
EDIT: after looking closer at the pictures, I am re-thinking my opinion. Maybe it is a pullet?!

I suspect pullet, too. S/he hasn't been trying to crow, but I know that isn't a for sure way to tell. How old do you think? I suspect 4 to 5 weeks

I would guess more like 6-10 weeks old. Sometimes roosters won't start crowing until they are almost a year old.

I think it is a cockerel too, and at about 5-10 weeks or over. I don’t know to much about breeds but it looks like a cross, it was really kind of you to save it from being a snakes lunch!

Yeah, I agree. Somebody dropped the little dude off at the feed store covered in lice and with an injury on his ear. The previous owner obviously didn't care about him
