Hello! I am one year into chicken ownership and I love it! I ordered barred rocks from a hatchery. I was told one would be a rooster. I assumed the white one would be the rooster, as all the others are classic barred rock markings, but this bird is now almost a year old and I see no signs of rooster characteristics. Any ideas? Did I get an albino barred rock, lol? I just don’t know what to think. I’ve seen this bird in nesting boxes but haven’t seen evidence of egg laying. Thank you!

Agreed. That's an Easter Egger. She looks past the Point of Lay so I wouldnt be surprised if she's laying eggs. Possibly blue or green eggs but could also be cream or brown.

A male Barred Rock will look similar to the female with the pattern but will have double white bars. It will have thicker legs, larger comb and wattles.
