I bought my chickens exactly a year ago today. (I made them a birthday cake and posted a thread on it. Check it out ;)) When I first bought them TSC had had a sign labeling them as black colored chickens. Well, I brought my chicks home and a year passes.... they’re white. I have accepted that I have no idea what kind of chickens I have a long time ago but I would still like to know. Take your guesses! PS My girls are more white than the pictures show. I am currently entering mud season so they are quite tan looking. The rooster does have a golden saddle year round and black stripes on his neck.

This chunky hen had a yellow beak and feet unlike her sisters and brother who have more orangey brown beaks and feet.

Amberlinks are hybrids so their appearance will vary. Their feather color all depends on their individual expression of silver, gold, and dominant white.
Why do they call them hybrids? A hybrid consists of two different species. Not two different breeds of the same species. Marketing maybe?

Technically they're mixed breeds.

Could be marketing. I use the term hybrid to differentiate between hatchery made crosses and crosses made by backyard chicken keepers.
