I have some eggs from my mom, and some are developed! I've seen chicks moving and taking up a little under 3/4 of the egg, I've marked these but when should I move them to the hatching try? My biggest concern is they won't be able to hatch properly in the cartons they sit in.

Any suggestions on how to tell?

I have taken eggs out from under a hen I was selling. Like 15 eggs. They were at various stages. I just put them in the incubator in the turner and everyone one of them hatched. 3 to 4 would hatch at a time. I just kept them turning. They would hop out to the side of the turner and dry off and then I would take them out. It was all silkie eggs.

My incubator turns the whole tray, so the entire rack of trays all tip one way, then the other. I'm worried they'll fall or get stuck! I guess I didn't even think about it, but I do check them twice a day and I could watch for them to pip and move them then...

I've had them pip and unzip in about an hour, so just keep a close eye on them if you are worried about them hurting them selves. Or you can hand turn them without the turner, so they will be safe. Best of luck!

I have had many chicks hatch in the turner and never lost one yet, but would do whatever makes you comfortable. That was in my hovabator. I have had one hatch in the turner in my Dickey and it was fine too.
