Unknown predator close to chickens...

Hi everyone!

I have recently discovered a new animal coming back near my chicken coop for three days in a row. I have researched every possible animal that it could be, but I have found none that even slightly resembles it. It lies low to the ground and it looks like it has black shiny fur. It almost looks like a badger, but smaller and it has a different coloring and shape. It moves fast when I shine the flashlight on it, so I haven't been able to get a clear picture of it. Also, it always seems to be out in a large open area. I have ruled out possum, raccoon, skunk, beaver, badger, and groundog. Has anyone else encountered an animal similar to this one? Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Could it be a young bear cub? If think a cat, dog or fox personally

There are mink in Virginia, but we don't have any streams or lakes that are near our house where it could live.

I think it was a little bigger than a weasel, it usually comes out at about 10:00. I'm going to try to get a little closer before I shine the flashlight on it so I can get a better look at it.
