Does anyone happen to have any photos of their chickens hatched from the pairings of:

OE hen X old English game bantam roo
Or
Black Australorp hen X old English game bantam roo

My step mother's mixed (hidden) clutch just hatched. She didn't think her little roo could do the job😂 but he apparently has. Most look like BA chicks aside from one tiny little chipmunk one from an OE egg. 🥰 All look so tiny.

Where there's a will, there's a way. Chick size is determined by egg size not rooster size.
The eggs from the Australorp hen were smaller by a good bit then mine (I have her
sister and a rooster as well). Mine lay a nice large sized egg. Hers look to be small-medium sized, which surprised me. The chicks are definitely much smaller then them when they were that small. So I'm interested to see how big they end up being when full grown. And apparently! I use to own the rooster and I was pretty impressed that he managed as well 😂

Which begs a different question ... Does a small egg/chick from a mixed bantam X standard clutch, or a large egg/chick from a similar pairing, necessarily indicate adult size ... or is that up to universal randomness, as well? ... Ummm ... asking for a "Friend" with bantam roosters and a very large BJG hen ... :idunno

Yes, this is basically what I'm wondering as well. The Aussie hen is fairly large, but, I'm assuming sizes may vary. Though they all look bantam sized to me, and the eggs were small, they are just a few days old. Still, looking smaller then a standard chick. I guess we shall see!

There is a couple that are more average sized. Here is one - looking very Australorp like 😊
