I have a female Muscovy duck who fights the males. Every time one tries to breed her she starts yelling at them (for lack of a better word to describe the sound she makes) and beating them with her wings while she chases them. Have you seen this before?

X2 plus how old is she?  Is she laying eggs now?
she is 9 months old. No, she is not laying, none of my ducks are laying.
I have 2 Muscovy drakes, 3 Muscovy hens, 1 mixed pair, and I think one mallard pair.

Usually this time of year none of my Muscovy's are laying or breeding. thankfully they take the fall and winter off. lol
Once spring gets here I'm sure she'll change her tune but she may favor one drake over the others.

X2...no eggs from mine right now, either. I have some young drakes (ranging from 5-8 months old) who are interested and try to grab a duck from time to time. While I have seen a couple breed, most of the boys have been rebuffed.

I have a Rouen female who has never tolerated the drakes. I've had three different drakes during the time I've had her, and she's never let any of them breed her as far as I know. She's pretty bossy and dominant, in fact she's in charge of the flock now and the drake just follows along. He knows better than to try to get too friendly with her. She's two years old and laid many eggs but she sure doesn't want to be a mother duck!
