Unresponsive Chick

Came home from work yesterday and the heater on my day old chicks was off! 2 of the 3 chicks were peeping madly and I quickly got the heat working again. But 1 was unresponsive but alive, I warmed it up In my hands and it started peeping weakly but won’t open its eyes. It spend all night under its heater and still much the same won’t open it’s eyes still and not moving but alive. I don’t know what to do, any advice? This is the first time this has happened to me.

i would try and give him some "chick Gatorade". hopefully, that will bring his electrolytes up

Is that something you make or buy?

They sell electrolytes for chicks at the feed store. Something like nutri drench might be a better idea.

Make it yourself:

Water
Lots of sugar
Large splash Apple cider vinegar
Small splash Liquid silver

You can omit anything you don’t have. You can usually buy chick electrolytes at a feed store, but this works too.

Agree with @rosemarythyme Nutri Drench a much better choice. Keep it warm & figure out how to prevent the warmer going off again.

How's the chick doing today?

Not any better yesterday or today. Tried the electrolytes but looked like it was coming back out again. Think I’m going to have to euthanize
