Unsure if one of our Rhode Island Reds is a rooster?

I’ll ask the store to find out what kinds they got the week we bought them tomorrow. And I’ll definitely update you with more pictures in a few weeks!

I'd bet they're Red Sex Links and the store kid probably just noted "red" and filled in "Rhode Island" on his own. Might even be something like a Hoover Red, so easy to mistake.

If they ARE sexlinks, they're girls. The one in the back looks like a Black Australorp (not guessing on sex of that one). Unless you mean you really only have two chicks, in which case one definitely isn't a red at all, but I'm assuming you can tell between red and black

Lol I know the black one is a barred rock. The picture I tried to attach of the other (similar) bird didn’t show up. Here’s the other one we were told was a rhode island red

The black one isn't a barred Rock either. Probably an Australorp, or a Jersey Giant.

Well ... looking at your two buff mottled whatever they are ... yes, it looks like the first one is a cockrell.

I'm sorry the place you got them from, couldn't be more accurate, or honest.

Really doesn't look like a cockerel to me. Even if it's not a red sex link (and it really looks like one), the legs are thinner than most males would have.

Ahahah well wow all of this is news. Only thing I’m 99.99% sure of anymore is that they are all chickens!

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what they grow up to be haha
