Have you ever raised a chick that is typically skittish, independent or "unfriendly" (leghorn, aracauna, ancona etc) but then it actually turned out to be a friendly chicken when it grew up? Ive heard of a few leghorns and buttercups becoming friendly, but tell me about your experiences with commonly unfriendly chickens being friendly!

Il start off with an experience of my own: when I was younger, my grandpa had a very friendly and cheerful little welsummer named Nelly.

I don't have one like you described. But I noticed most of my hens are not so friendly when they were chick, but once they start laying egg, they became friendly, with the exception of Wyandottee, they still are not friendly . They often say..don't you come any closer🤣
