Do any of you have pictures of your unusual or unique nest boxes?? I was trying to think of something to use as a nest box besides having to build one. Maybe like egg crate boxes or litter boxes.. SOmething that can be removed and cleaned.. Thanks

I use plastic lidded storage bins like these ones, but they're hard to find:

I also use a Booda kitty litter box:

It's a little larger than our bantams like (and harder for them to get inside), but it works well when two or more hens want to use it at the same time (plenty of room).

I love plastic portable nestboxes. They're so easy to clean, and very handy when you have to manage a broody. I just moved the whole nestbox with the hen and her eggs inside to the separate broody coop. The hens never moved a feather to come off the nest.

some people on here use buckets wedge side by side on a shelf, someone posted the other day that they use washing-up bowls as nest boxes and something for the birds to drink from.

I use stackable storage totes. I think that they were $7 at Lowe's.
They are easy to move around/clean.
My girls love them!
We even have one that is full of sand for them.

I use large plastic dishwashing bins from $store. 2.50 each and easy to clean. I cut out a little on one side to make it easier for the girls to get in and out.

I have asked the guy that works in the Produce Department at the grocery store for some of those wooden crates that Fresh Corn on the Cob comes in. Have them in a couple of my coops and they work pretty good and they don't cost anything.
