I appreciate everyone's input and responses. We were blessed this morning to find our peahen, Louise, essentially normal in posture and basically back to normal behavior. She is eating, drinking, pooping and interacting with our other peafowl. She had spent the night up high on her roost without difficulty. I did check her vent and found no egg. Hopefully she will remain looking good. I reviewed the egg bound forum from start to finish and better understand the gravity of that situation.
This event did give me a wake up call with respect to not being prepared for an event such as this. I now have tube feeding catheters and calcium gluconate on order to be delivered early this week. I also wonder what other supplies and drugs I should have on hand for a peafowl "medicine cabinet". Can someone refer me to a listing of that nature?
We live in an area where there are no veterinarians who care for fowl, so will be pretty much on our own.
Thanks again.!
