Unusual places to lay eggs - revisited

There was a post about this a while back - and maybe more since, but this was too ridiculous not to share. I mean, why not lay your egg in an almost empty bag of shavings? I have also had them lay in an almost full bag of shavings sitting up on its end. This one was particularly funny because she had to burrow into the bag which was opened at the top and then down the side seam, and laying on its side on an old trunk (where I store my unopened bags of feed to keep the mice and rats out). This is my little Phoenix hen, who is one of my oldest chickens and a real survivor, and a great mom to boot.

That's so funny! Chickens are the most random animals. I think she probably likes the compactness of the bag and the fresh smell of the shavings lol. I wonder if animals also like blankets.
