Unusual Screaming Sounds From Our Wyandotte... Please Help

Can someone give me some input on this sound?! She's a Wyandotte, lays an egg nearly every day and just started making this sound today. It's awful and frequent (every 30 seconds or so) and I'm worried something is wrong. I've checked her over and found no injuries. She walks around the yard doing it, and it increases when my husband or I walk out there to check on her. She's really only vocal in the morning hours when she wants out of the coop but otherwise we don't hear too much from her.

To me it sounds like your hen is trying to crow. Do you have a rooster? She may be taking the position if you don't have one.

or she could just be yelling....mine make some pretty weird sounds at times.

How old is she?
Is she laying?
