Unusually Pink Feet?

This is our backup rooster; I came home from work and noticed his feet were flushed. His appetite is good and he's still sneaking around with a couple of the ladies behind our main rooster's back. He doesn't seem to have any limp or show any signs of tenderness.

I also examined his legs and feet with a loupe and didn't see any mites or raised scales. I even lifted a few of the larger scales to check under them and didn't see anything.

Any ideas?

Huh. My hens' legs get like this when it's super cold, but not usually their feet. Has it been snowing where you are?

I think it can be caused by hormones, too. I remember someone saying that roosters feet get pinker when they are experiencing a change in hormone levels. But your boy looks to be rather mature, judging by his spurs! Lol

No snow, just rain; it's been cool but not cold. He's about 18 months old. He was nearly full size and his spurs were @5/16" long when we got him.

My cockerel has that pink up the sides of his legs. I think it has to do with hormones; they started showing up when he was about 4-5 months old. I call them his racing stripes.

Maybe hormones, then. Maybe getting some behind the alpha's back has got him extra hormonal?
