Unwell chicken

Hi, My chicken seems pretty unwell since this week. She’s not eating as much as the other chickens. Also, she just seems tired and awkward Additionally, she returns to the coop much earlier than the other chicken. She also has a dirty bum to which we clean her today with soap. Any advices from chicken expert would be greatly appreciate as I love my chicken very much. Thanks

Hi, thanks for a response, that is greatly appreciated! So basically our chickens (all red rhode) roosts together and lays their egg wherever they pleases so we don’t really keep track on which chicken lays which egg. As for worming, we never wormed them. I could purchase some item you’d recommend if needed

Yes I agree, try worming them. What is there diet? Do you offer oyster shells and grit? Chickens that lay need some sort of high calcium as eggs really take that out of them.

They eat mixed corn, grains, pellets and occasionally some treats such as bread and ham

Moreover, do you think the verm x natural liquid a good option to buy. Also, do you think we might as well deworm them all while we’re at it. Thanks

Yes, you should deworm them all, not sure about the VzNL, you should post a fourm, never used it. You should also get Nutri-Drentch poultry for your flock, its vitamins for them- you put a few drops (instructions are on the back) in there water, mix and let them drink, egging can also deplete there vitamins. You should try a feed such as purina, then have oyster shells in them, and 100% purchase oyster shells and grit and give it to them.

You can also buy calcium citrate for her cut the tablet into 3rds and pop it into her beak, by grabing her waddles and pulling down using your other finger to pry open her beak, they can swallow it, dont worry.
