Unwell chicken

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Our chickens do not like to eat pellets as they only eat a little especially our rooster he basically eat very little to none. I also didn’t know that corn and grains are treats as I type chicken feed on the search engine and corn and grains pops up. Also, I will now rarely feed them bread and ham although they like it very much.
Ok noted. Btw, does the phytopet chicken worm product on Amazon work. If not can you recommend some cheaper ones online as they’re quite pricey. Thanks
Where are you located in the world?

The products you mention make me think you are in the UK or EU?

If so, for deworming, I would look for Flubendazole (Flubenvet).
@LaFleche can tell you how to administer the dewormer. I **think** it can be mixed with feed. I'm in the U.S. and use different products, so can't say 100%.

Do you provide oyster shell (Soluble Grit) for your flock?
Do check her over for lice/mites too just to be sure that external parasites aren't a contributor of decline.

Yes. I am in the uk, I just took a picture of my chicken just this morning. She’s still in the coop while the others are out already.
Thanks for the recommendation would check it out.
No we currently do not provide oyster shells we feed them pellets, grains and corn
Will do! Thanks for all the great advices

Living in the U.K. you are able to get Flubenole 5% which is given 0,6 grms or 1,2 grms per kg of feed for 7 consecutive days. Only give the medicated feed, no treats or anything else on the side.

The double dose will treat tapeworms as well, so I always use it as overdosing won't harm but giving too little can cause resistance.

Prepare your grain mix as follows:

Mix 1 tablespoon vegetable oil ( sunflower or corn oil) with 1 kg of mixed grains.

Measure 1,2 grms of Flubenole 5% and mix it well with 1 tablespoon of brewers yeast or wheat flour. I prefer brewer's yeast as it provides vitamins and protein.

Then add it slowly to the oiled grains and mix very thoroughly until every single grain is coated with the powdery Flubenole mix.

Feed twice a day, the bigger portion should be given in the evening. But you can also prepare several kg at once and have your chickens eat it free choice.

Do have always lots of crushed oyster shells and granite grit available free choice.

And provide water fresh every day.

Your birds might start to molt now which makes it even more important to rid them of internal and external parasites to help them through this difficult phase.

Hi, the worming thing just arrived today and we used it on her the product is called Phytopet chicken worm, we mixed it with water as instructed. Now my chicken just basically stays in the coop alone most time and looks exhausted and tired. How long does it take for the worming thing to work? Also Any other advices/ suggestions would be nice. Thanks again

I have no experience whatsoever with the herbal product you used.
Hi! Thanks for a response. I appreciate it. Additionally, based on my newly uploaded picture of my hen, can you roughly tell what’s wrong with her as some user on Reddit suggests that it is some kind of parasite.

Did you inspect your coop and hen closely for mites and lice as suggested earlier?

Just looking at a picture will not help, you would need to investigate hands on.

Like I said earlier, I suspect that your hen is beginning to molt.
