Hello, everyone! I am brand new to chickens and already in love with "my girls"...3 Barred Rocks and 2 RIRs. The chicks are only 12 days old and still brooding inside and the coop and run are in progress.

Twice before, I've researched and almost took the plunge; but, the first time I was still living at home and my mom vetoed the idea, the second time, my location was all wrong

So excited to finally be doing this at 44 years old!

Thanks! No boredom in sight for me, this new obsession is filling every spare hour so pleasantly.

Doing some work preparing my kitchen garden this afternoon and discovered that the winter compost has really been working overtime...rich new earth and tons of worms aerating things. Now, can't wait to have a few pullets weeding beside me!

Thanks, again for the welcome, this site has already been invaluable.
