Thanks for the chick ID Robo. I have 20 now... I set 39 eggs and had 14 that did not develope. Soo.... 50% of the eggs shipped to me hatched. If you do not count the clear eggs then 80% hatch on day 17 and I left 5 in today on day 18.
What a difference a day makes in the chicks. They went from wobbly and groggy to awesome little missles in one day. Man thay are fast. LOL!!
Don't look to me for homeade incubator tips. I am a newbie too! I feel I got kinda lucky on this hatch and I have learned a ton!! I will say though use a good thermostat, a fan, keep the air moist, and don't help.
I was concerned a little becasue they pipped and did not do anything for about 30 hours. Actually I was concerned a lot and the urge to help them was very strong. However when they decided to come out they did so in about 10 minutes.
