**UPDATE AND QUESTION**Out Of 36 Eggs!!!(PIC)

From the looks of the shell and the amount of blood on it and how he's laying there I'd say he wasn't quite ready to hatch yet. I know how hard it is to just watch them and not help in their struggle to hatch, but that is part of what makes them strong enough to survive. I do not help a chick hatch just because 99.9% of the time there is a reason they were unable to hatch on their own and they end up dying or I have to cull them anyway.

I feel for you- and understand about ordering chicks. I think if I ever need chicks again (making my own with broodies) I'll order them from someone that sexes them- breeder/hatchery. I've had good hatches so far- but ended up with way too many roos. Hope your little one is up and about!

Well, this morning I found Lone Star dead in the bator.

I have one egg that I peeped some of the shell, but not the membrane that is still alive.

I have my fingers crossed!

In hopes that he will hatch the rest of the way on his own!

I have chicks coming in from a hatchery on Wednesday! I May try hatching eggs again latter, but for now I will just try live chicks!

You have to have humidity to suit YOUR climate. All info is good, but figure out if you have dry, normal or high humidity where you live and adjust the humidity to that.
I shrink wrapped 4 peachicks nd 1 goose because I did not have the humidity high enough through the first 18 days. I was trying to do the dry incubating but with my climate (high desert) it was the wrong choice.
Think about your humidityon an everyday scale. If it is dry, go higher, if it is normal then perhaps 40-50 % humidity for the first 18 days, if it is humid then 25-35 might be good for you.
A good way to tell is check the air cell. If it is shrinking fast then up the humidity. If it is not getting smaller then down the humidity.
I have just started weighing my eggs before incubating too. The eggs should lose 12-13% of their weight to hatch out good (remember to up the humidity the last 3 days to 65-80% again depending on your climate)
Good luck!
