{ UPDATE } Crying . Sobbing . I'm Ticked Off! (ain't no bugs on me !)

It smothers the live ones. It also loosens the "glue" that holds the nits in. You would need to use a nit comb still though. And you may want to repeat a certain number of days later when any nits missed by the comb hatch (I did this for good measure even though I didn't see anything).

I have some super thick lotion on my desk here at work.
I am seriously contemplating putting it on my head and wrapping it with a towel! If my boss comes back soon I can tell him I have plans later and I wanted to shine treat my hair!

I just realized that it was mentioned that after oil, wrapping in a towel would work. IMO, I don't think that would do the trick. We wrapped my daughters hair tightly in saran wrap (it was quite a sight! lol).

Good luck getting rid of them! The thing about oil is it is really hard for them to become immune to smothering like they become immune to the poison

My DD had them a couple of times when she was in Elementary school , what a pain in the rear!
I did find this great shampoo that kills them , it is from the health food store , all natural!
Its called Dessert Essence Therapeutic Treatment Shampoo, with Eco-Harvest Tea Tree Oil ,Blue Cypress and Eucalyptis. For problamatic scalp conditions &head lice. Buy both the Shampoo and the Conditioner.Follow directions on the bottle . I used to use it at least once a week as a preventative when my kids were younger. it really works without all the harsh poisons.

Good Luck!

Also another product for bedding and furniture you just spray it on , by a company called Pleasant ;Lice Free Lice Control Spray. No pesticides safe to use around animals and humans . it smells like cedar .

I wonder if DE would work any wonders...slice up their expskeletons, too, right??

...yuk...makes me really glad for a super greasy scalp. I was told folks whose hair gets oily really easily get lice less often, and we all have straight, super-oily hair that has to be washed constantly. I curse it until I think about lice...

Yeah you lucky greasy scalped folks. My DH has an oily scalp too.
Lice love a clean head, it is hard for folks who color their hair to get
lice too. I used to color my hair but my face and scalp are super sensitive and I have a bad reaction to many products

, so no color, bleach .. anything. Just nice clean virgin hair

I hope his lotion does'nt send it in a tizzy!

Lice are species specific. If a human louse bites a chicken it will die. If a chicken louse bites a human it will die.
